Critical Steps to Online Success-The Absolute Best Way to Build Your List!
list. Long term this will pay you more than anything else
you may do.
Why is that?
Because it's yours! You built it, you own it and if you
treat your clients well they will stay with you forever.
Article Marketing is without doubt the absolute best way
to build your list.
Have you tried it but find you're not having any success?
Are your articles not getting opened?
Do you want to know how to get your articles read and how
to get click thrus from readers?
Well there's a knack to it!
It's all in how you set up your article! Once you start
doing it right those click thrus will really start to click!
Here's what you do…
1. You must have a great title:
Getting your articles opened is all about the title. A
great title will grab your visitor's attention and they'll
click your article to see what's inside. A great title
grabs their interest-it tells the reader what they can
learn in the article, and it also arouses curiosity.
So what is a great title?
Great titles have clarity and directness. They stand up
and yell "action". They don't waffle around. They ask a
question…they promise a great outcome…they make a call to
action. They say: "Open "me" and your problems will be
solved."!
Visit a few of the article directories and look at their
"most read articles" page. There's a striking difference in
the directness and clarity of these titles versus articles
in general.
2. You must have a great opening paragraph:
Your first sentence or set of sentences must be just as
powerful as your title. You can't afford to disappoint your
reader. Tell them what they're going to get from your
article and why this will be a benefit to them.
If you don't do this your reader will feel let down…you
haven't provided what you promised… they'll click away and
look somewhere else.
3. You must continue to hold your readers' attention:
After the promise of the title and the opening paragraph
you must continue to hold your readers' attention. You must
now fulfill their expectations. Your information must be
concise, informative and to the point.
Give your reader useful information; information that can
be immediately put into action. Your purpose is wherever
possible to provide information that will make a positive
change in your readers life. You don't need to teach them
everything about the topic… that's probably a life times
work. One article of a few hundred words can't accomplish
this.
But, whatever you write…make it count. Don't just throw up
an article to get another one in the mill. People will come
to expect quality if that's what you provide and they'll
continue to look for your articles and be excited to read
them.
4. Place a compelling call to action in your bio:
At the end of the article you must place a compelling call
to action. You can also refer them to your link from the
body of your article; something like: "for more info click
my link below".
Don't just put your name and accomplishments and a link
in your bio… include a call to action. Tell the reader to
click through to your site for more information on the
topic. Tell them the benefits they can receive from your
site. Then add the link to your site. After that, put
your bio information--and your link again, or another if
you have two sites or two interesting pages.

Critical Steps to Online Success - Want More Traffic At Your Website?
day, you must move forward on building your list-it's your
most Critical Step in the marketing chain.
And getting more traffic to your opt-in page is the way to
speed it up.
And by now you know that I believe article marketing is
the best way to make this happen.
Maybe you've tried article marketing, your articles
getting opened, but you're not getting click thrus to your
squeeze page?
Let's see what we can do to fix that…
First the good news: "you're doing something right"; you
must be writing titles that are attracting traffic to your
article or you wouldn't have any readers.
One reason that you aren't getting clicks on your link
might be that the reader isn't getting that far. You could
be losing them in the first couple of paragraphs.
Your first sentence or set of sentences must be almost as
powerful as your title. You can't afford to disappoint your
reader. Tell them what they're going to get from your
article and why this will be a benefit to them.
If you don't do this your reader will feel let down…you
haven't provided what you promised… they'll click away and
look somewhere else.
There's an old army adage that goes like this:
"Tell them what you're going to tell them; tell it to
them; then recap and tell them what you told them."
If you adopt this formula you'll have great success with
your article writing…but remember to keep the recap
short…maybe just one sentence or a short paragraph.
Let's say this is your title:
"Want to take Great Photographs? Is your camera letting
you down? Here's how to test it…"
You might start your article something like this:
______________________________________________________
Are you not very happy with how your photo shots are
coming out lately?
Would you like some help?
I have found that in all endeavors the best tools bring
the best results.
It just might be that your camera is falling down on the
job!
Here's a way to test your camera to find out if it really
is the culprit:
***Now you add some info on how to do this***
.
.
.
Then quickly you wrap it up:
If these tests indicate your camera is at fault you can
take steps to upgrade. Otherwise you need to look further.
Click my link below for more information.
______________________________________________________
See how we followed the formula here?
We introduced the topic in a way that created interest in
the solution, we gave the solution and we wrapped it up.

Critical Steps To Online Success--Do You Need Help Building Your List?
happening?
Have you tried article writing but that didn't work either?
Are your articles getting opened, but you're not getting
click thrus to your squeeze page?
There could be a number of reasons for this.
If your articles are getting opened then your title must
be OK.
The next critical step is to have 2 or 3 short strong
opening sentences or paragraphs…I've covered how to do this
in an earlier article…you can probably find it if you
search my name in the index.
If you've done both those things and you're still not
getting many click thrus then you are losing them in the
body…the "information segment" of your article.
After the promise of the title and the opening paragraph
you must continue to hold your readers' attention. You must
now fulfill their expectations. Your information must be
concise, informative and to the point.
Give your reader information that will be useful to them;
information that can be immediately put into action. Your
purpose is wherever possible to provide information that
will make a positive change in your reader's life.
But, whatever you write…make it count!
This is a performance you are staging…your reader is your
audience!
Have you ever been to a comedy show where the comic
started to lose the audience? Often good manners will keep
them in their seats for awhile but eventually if it gets
bad enough they will leave.
You don't have the saving grace of good manners to keep
your audience reading your article. If you're not
delivering the goods in an interesting, informative and
professional manner they will click away and look elsewhere.
If you think this might be an issue for you then perhaps
you need to take some writing lessons?
Meantime, here are a few ideas that might help:
Create a plan for your article: opening, body, closing. A
length of 300 to 500 words is a good size article.
Then set out 3 or 4 main points that you wish to cover in
the body of your article, organize them into an order that
lets the ideas flow, and devote a segment or paragraph to
each.
Use numbered points if appropriate.
Break up your paragraphs-keep them short.
People don't like reading text in big blocks; it's hard to
keep your place. So make sure there's lots of white space.
I like to use semi-colons, dashes and 3 dots to allow me to
make a series of short strong statements rather than a long
run-on sentence.
Vary your sentence lengths…short, medium and long.
Make statements and let them stand out as a single line.
Don't repeat words in close proximity to each other.
And finally: "write in haste and correct at leisure". If
the ideas are flowing just get them down fast. You can
easily come back and clean it up later.

Critical Steps to Online Success--How to get Maximum Response from your List
writing you will quite quickly (within a couple of months)
start getting a lot of visitors to your site who accept
your free offer and are added to your list.
It starts painfully slowly but then the momentum just
builds and a great stream of new leads floods in every day.
When they opt-in and accept your free gift your
autoresponder will begin to send them the timed series of
emails you wrote a while back so you would be ready for
this.
You started by writing 5 emails but now you need to expand
that to 20. Pretty much just 4 cycles of the first 5 emails.
You remember what they were?
1. Welcome to my Newsletter
2. Here's some content
3. Here's another free gift
4. Here's some more content
5. Here's an eBook you can purchase
Send emails to your list on a regular basis and continue
to offer affiliate products and products you have created
yourself…but don't overburden them with offers.
Give value via information and giveaways. A link to your
latest article can be a good giveaway.
You rise above the crowd if you continue to contribute
valuable teaching content in your Newsletter. Most
marketers only write when they want to sell you something.
And don't forget to keep on writing those articles.
As you write your articles…especially if you create a
series of articles to deal with a specific topic…you can
combine them into an eBook which you can offer for sale.
You see the beauty of the system?
The articles become the eBooks; you post your articles on
your Blog; you turn your teaching emails into articles; you
turn your articles into emails.
You write the content once but you get to use it over and
over again.

Critical Steps to Online Success - The Secret Magic of Article Writing to Grow your List.
Publish or perish…that's the motto in academia and it's
the same with article marketing.
If you're not pushing out articles every day then you lose
momentum and your list will stop growing. The search
engines favor sites with a continual flow of fresh content
and readers are always looking for fresh material,
particularly if they have found your articles and come to
rely on your input-so don't let them down or they'll
gravitate to someone else.
Later on when the money starts to flow that won't be such
a damaging event because you'll be able to afford to pay
for advertising to plug the gap. But in the early days of
your business your articles are your life blood…you must
keep them coming…one a day at the very least.
Why all this focus on article writing you might be asking
yourself?
Pretty simple…articles will always bring you the top
caliber prospects…just like yourself. The people who read
your articles are searching for a solution to growing their
online business faster and stronger. They type a search
phrase into a search engine and bingo, here they are,
reading your article.
How could the whole process of co-operation work any
better than that.
The reader has a need and you have the information they
are seeking. It's quite possible that with your mentoring
their businesses could take off. That's a pretty nice
feeling isn't it?
I love writing articles because I've got all of this
accumulated information inside that's been bursting to come
out for years. I drive my friends and family nuts because
I'm always boring them stupid with all this stuff I want to
tell them.
I can't help it…I love learning new stuff. My greatest
wish is that you find it of value and it moves your
business forward too.

Critical Steps to Online Success- How do you actually create "leverage" in an Online Business?
Doesn't matter! We have to find a way to multiply our
efforts if we're going to succeed big time in any business.
Technology can help us do that. But sometimes we don't see
the potential unless someone points it out to us.
For instance how could "writing an article" multiply our
efforts?
When I first understood this principle I was amazed…it's
such a perfect concept.
We write an article and post it to an Article Directory
and our Blog. Say it takes an hour to get all that done
(less as you get practiced). And that's all we do.
But that one article gets multiplied over and over. Say
only 100 people read your original posting over a two month
time period. A newsletter writers need content for their
letter. They pick up your article and post it on their site
and send it out in their publication to 5000 people on
their list. Now 5100 people are reading your one article.
The posting of your article on the new site gets indexed in
the search engines and you have another presence on the
web. Others pick it up and it grows and grows.
You "ping" your blog. With the click of a mouse you advise
20 to 100 RSS feeders that there's a new posting on your
blog. It hits the "RSS feed readers" of thousands of blog
readers, some of them read your article and either use it
in their publication or pass it on.
One click of the mouse and you've made all that
happen…that's leverage.
So what have we got? You wrote one article and posted it
to one article directory and to your Blog and you "pinged"
your Blog once.
You worked for one hour and now thousands of people from
all around the world are potentially reading your article.
Some of them will click your link and join your email list.
Do you need to do anything yet?
No, just sit back, or continue sleeping or sunbathing or
whatever you need to do. It's all being handled in the
background.
Because we can leverage again by using an autoresponder to
build our list.
Your autoresponder is always on the job waiting for
something to do-the perfect employee. Your autoresponder
will add the new person to your list and label them
correctly. It will send them your sequence of pre-written
emails welcoming them, educating them and eventually
offering them a product for purchase that could be
appropriate for their use.
That's leverage in action!

Critical Steps to Online Success—Hit it Big with Article Writing
will get dispirited…you'll want to lie down and give up. In
the early stages it takes much more effort than we expect.
Most of us are not naturally good writers so there are
skills to be acquired and new work habits to be developed.
Article writing as a source of leads for your online
business will surely challenge you to dig down, suck in and
just keep on going.
But it will be worth it!
Why? Because it works!
How does it work? It works because of two things.
1. The big article Directories have very high SEO rankings
so you can piggyback on their success to get your site
noticed. People searching will find your article. On your
own it could take years.
2. With 10 or 20 articles in the works your website will
be miraculously indexed by the search engines because of
your links to the big article directories…you're on the map.
3. Other Ezine and Newsletter publishers pick up your
article and run it in their publication and put it on their
site. Others see it on their site and do the same etc. etc.
It just grows and grows!
Article writing will return your effort 100 fold…and in
quite a short space of time. But it's like Network
Marketing; painfully slow to start, but for those who stick
around…the really big payoff!
With article writing you can hit pay dirt in 12 months or
less if you are able to stay focused and committed.
Here's why it works so well:
First off-there's not much competition. Lot's of writers
get started but they fall off the path. Not too many people
are willing to go blindly into the future, performing a
demanding task day after day with no noticeable payoff for
quite a while.
For a while you have to be happy with milestones…how many
people read my articles today? Is my readership growing?
(the directories will provide these stats for you).
Most people are looking for the quick fix. You see it
everywhere…just send your money and we'll build your
business for you.
Folks it doesn't work like that. Most millionaires are
business owners and they spent a lifetime steadily building
their businesses to get there.
So when you become a committed article writer you join a
select community of winners who are willing to go forward
in faith until the results show up.
If you stay the course you will be rewarded!
It takes time and commitment to write and publish 200
articles. You need 200 articles in circulation to get
enough readers clicking your link, visiting your site,
accepting your offer and opting-in to your list.
With 20 articles published you may have only 5 people
added to your list and quit writing in despair…don't do
that, don't give up. You're almost there.
The growth will be exponential! Here's how it might happen.
With 40 articles your list can grow to 200 plus-with 100
you can have 500 on your list and with 200 articles your
list may have grown as big as 2000 subscribers.(PLEASE
NOTE:these numbers are just guesstimates. Don't take this
as a promise that this is exactly how it will happen for
you).
Now you're starting to make some worthwhile income.
If you write just 2 articles a day you can have 200
articles in publication by the end of 3 months.
Once the money starts to flow there'll be no looking back.
Here's the challenge. Can you go the distance? Can you dig
in until it starts to happen for you?
Keep on Winning

Jim

CRITICAL STEPS TO ONLINE SUCCESS - Write 5 articles of 300 words each on your subject.
So far, if you've been keeping up with me, here's what
you've done:
1.Decide what sort of business you want to be in on the
web.
2.Decide what you want to sell.
3.Find some affiliate products in that niche and register
to market them.
4.Get a website of your own.
If you intend to do your marketing via Article Writing and
Publishing then here's what you need to do now:
Create 5 article titles--a series is good. Write down 3
points for each title and begin to write your articles. If
you get stuck or bored with one just move to another, but
keep on writing.
Let's say your niche is dogs and you're writing about dogs.
Your five titles might be:
1. How to pick a good dog.
2. Big or small dogs…which is best?
3. What dogs shed the least?
4. How much does it cost to feed a dog?
5. What's the best way to train a dog?
And some points to write about in Article 1 as an example
could be:
" What are the characteristics of a good dog?
" Should I buy a puppy or go to the SPCA?
" How can I tell if the dog I pick will be a "good" dog?
Just write 100 words on each of these points and you've
got an article ready to publish.
A great way to get some ideas of what to write and how to
write it is to go to http://ezinearticles.com and browse
through the articles.
Just go to the "Ezine Articles" home page and explore the
categories.
A good place to start is with the "Writing and Speaking"
Categories and then take a look at articles in the "Writing
and Speaking" and "Article Marketing" sections.
The value of this for you is that you can take an
educational course in how to write and market with articles
at the same time as you are doing your writing.
You'll now need to publish your articles to the Article
Directories.
Keep on Winning
Regards
Jim

20 Critical Steps To Online Success--Step by Step Campaign to Get You Off To A Fast Start!
I so often get asked: "What exactly do I need to do to get started and be successful Online?"
My answer is always: First build your list!
Article Writing is the cheapest and fastest way to start to build your email list. Here are the Steps I recommend you take. Copy this article and begin to follow these steps.
1. Decide what sort of business you want to be in on the web. What do you have a strong interest in?
2. Decide what you want to sell.
3. Find some "affiliate products" in that niche and register to market them. Digital "how-to" Books and Reports are the easiest to handle.
4. Get a website of your own. "GoDaddy" costs a few dollars per month for basic site hosting.
5. Write 5 articles of 300 words each on your subject. Create 5 article titles-a series is good. Write down 3 points for each title and begin to write your articles. If you get stuck on one just move to another.
6. Compile your 5 articles into a "Free Book" to give away to your visitors.
7. Write a "Thank you" email for your Auto-responder to send to new subscribers to your list. This email should tell them about the "Verification Email" they will receive and the importance of clicking the verification link.
8. Write a 5 email auto-responder email series to be sent one per day to new subscribers to your list--a thank you email, a teaching email, another free gift email to build trust, another teaching email and finally an email that offers your "for sale" product.
9. Your first "For Sale" product will most likely be an affiliate product.
10. Subscribe to an Auto-responder service: aWeber is excellent.
11. Design your Sales Page and attach your Web Form to allow visitors to register for your FREE Book and Newsletter. Your Auto-responder provider will have instructions on their site to help design your webform.
12. Design your "Download your Book" web page which will be sent by your auto-responder to your visitors who have "opted-in". You can see a sample download page if you choose to Download my Free book at: http://homebasedbusinessontheweb.com/cap/ but you don't need the book cover when you first start out.
13. Launch your website. At this point you will only need to have 2 pages: a Sales or Offering page for you free giveaway plus your Download Page. Keep it simple.
14. Submit your 5 articles to 6 or 7 Article Directories.
http://ezinearticles.com is the best place to start.
15. Start a Blog. It's free and easy.
http://blogger.com/home
16. Publish your 5 articles on your blog and "ping" your
blog. http://pingomatic.com
17. Continue to write and publish articles every day.
18. You will quite quickly start getting visitors to your site who accept your free offer and are added to your list. They will begin to receive the series of 5 auto-responder emails and some will purchase your product.
19. Send emails to your list on a regular basis and continue to offer affiliate products…but don't overburden them with offers. Give value via information and giveaways. A link to your latest article can be a good giveaway.
20. Compile your first 20 articles into a "for sale" book and offer it for sale in your emails. You can continue the offer indefinitely but should slow down the frequency after the first couple of weeks.
Then just do it all again!

Online MLM-- Add another Income Stream to keep you in the Game
doors open. Too often in MLM, people reach the point, often
around tax time in their first or second year, when they sit down
to review how much they have made versus how much they have
spent; and it just doesn’t make sense anymore.
Early on we start out with enthusiasm expecting early
success and for some of us this happens. But for most,
success in MLM doesn't come at all...and for those of us
who stay the course, it takes some time to show up. It's a new
way of doing business for us and there is a learning curve
that is often longer than we expected.
On appraisal we are shocked at how much we have spent and
how little we have earned. We become disillusioned and we
quit because we just aren't willing to spend any more money.
We lose our dream...and then we quit. And almost always we
have a sense of regret. We failed and it hurts. We got
excited! We had such high hopes that this business could
change our lives...but it ended up costing too much to
operate and we just couldn't make it work fast enough.
Is there a solution?
Fortunately for us there is and it's called the "funded
proposal"; which is just a fancy way of saying "find a way
to make some extra up-front money fast in a way that also
helps to build your MLM".
The fastest way to do this is to find an affiliate product
you can market on the web and advertise it via
Pay-per-Click, article marketing or other online media.
You can next create "how to" books of your own to market on
your site.
From your early sales of affiliate products and your own
books will come the initial funds to finance your marketing
efforts . This is how you generate your marketing budget.
You will now be able to stay in the game until the
exponential growth of a flourishing MLM business kicks in
and the big money truly begins to flow.
