Critical Steps to Online Success-How to Make your Squeeze Page Sell - Make your Webpage Easy to Read

The most important person to see your sales page is the
visitor who has a need and is motivated to purchase
something to fill that need.

Your only job is to help your visitor find what they are
looking for. That's the real job of a professional sales
person. To give enough service and information to allow the
customer to make an informed decision as to whether your
product offers good value, is affordable to them and is
appropriate for their needs.

I see so many websites where the designer has gone off on
a wonderfully self gratifying, graphic design adventure and
completely forgotten about the needs of the reader.

The only purpose of your sales page is to communicate your
information to your visitor in a way that makes it truly
easy for them to reach the decision you desire; i.e. to
purchase your product or service or opt-in to your list if
it is truly a good solution for them. Everything else is
irrelevant ego gratification or just plain poor design.

And another thing!

Not everyone has amazing eyesight, so take this into
account too. I'm getting more and more long sighted. That
means I can't focus close up so I need to move my reading
material further and further away to be able to focus on
it. I like to wear reading glasses that allow me to focus
clearly on the screen from about three feet away. That's
about the standard distance for someone using a keyboard on
a slide out keyboard tray.

So what did you say… deal with it?

Well here's the thing: If you serve up text that is too
small or is in pale shades of grey or blue or green or,
heaven forbid, pink… people like me (and there's lots of
us) struggle to read it. We'll just close your page and
move on.

Don't make anything difficult for your reader. Don't do
anything to cause your visitor to leave your page before
they have had a chance to evaluate your offer.

Critical Steps to Online Success-How to Make your Squeeze Page Sell-Don't get too Fancy with the Design.

Besides looking amateurish, a fussy site design will
confuse your visitor.

You've seen those sites with all sorts of graphics on the
background and lots of flash videos going off all over the
place. They demonstrate that the site designer knows their
stuff but the visitor has no idea what you want them to do;
and often the background graphics obscure your content so
it can't be easily read.

Keep it simple!

Choose one or two, maybe three colors and a couple of
fonts and stick with that design. Nothing looks worse than
a jumbled array of colors, fonts and styles. And absolutely
don't add textures or dark colored backgrounds; the test
becomes too difficult to read.

People like to get what they expect… what they're used to;
we don't really like surprises. Your visitors are used to
reading dark print on a light background… so give it to
them.

Don't use more than three colors plus maybe some yellow
for highlighting; and make sure your colors are web safe.
Lot's of internet users are still working with computers
that have very basic video cards. If you go throwing
sophisticated color shades and tints at them you'll
completely lose the dramatic effect you were trying to
generate by the time a very basic VGA video card gets to
interpret it on the screen.

What are web safe colors?

Basically they're the original 16 colors that came with
Dos. If you just stick with your basic black, red, blue,
dark blue and yellow you'll never get into trouble with
font colors.

Your visitors came to your website because they were
searching for something on the web. They clicked on your
site listing in the search engine page. They really hope
you can fill their need.

Give them great sales copy that's easy to read and you're
half way there!

Secrets of MLM Online Success-Use Pay-per-Click to get Prospects to a Seminar in your City.

Your MLM company is planning a big seminar or marketing
plan presentation in your area but you have no one to drag
out…you've approached everyone you know and lots you didn't
know. People cross the street when they see you coming.

How on earth can you find some new prospects to invite?

Find them online!

If you want to do it this way then your best online
prospecting option is to use Pay-per-Click.

Open your Google AdWords site (or enroll for one if you
don't have one already…it's free), write your ad etc. and
then go to "Edit Campaign Options" and go down to
"Countries and Territories" on the bottom right hand side
of the page and click on "Edit" .

Now you'll be at the "Location Targeting Options".

At the top of the page above the "Countries" box you'll
see a long green bar with this inside: "Your campaign's
location targeting option: Countries and Territories" and
following that will be a link that says: "Edit". Click this
link.

You can now choose whether you want your PPC ad to be
shown in a particular State or you can select a specific
city or several cities.

Now when your ad runs only people in the selected
geographic locations will be able to view it. And of course
you'll get a much smaller response, but your traffic will
be geographically targeted.

Now that you've limited the traffic to the location of your
seminar you can afford to increase the amount you're
willing to pay up per click for the most favorable keywords.

In other words; you'll get less traffic at your website,
it will cost you more per click but they'll be worth more
because you have targeted them to the location you want.

As well as your MLM efforts you'll need a Funded Proposal.
If you want to stay in the game long term you'll want to be
making some sideline money early on to fund your marketing
programs.

Secrets of MLM Online Success-What do you do if your company doesn't have an online presentation?

The Internet can be useful in many ways to increase the
efficiency of your prospecting and recruiting efforts. You
don't necessarily have to use it only to generate prospects
at your website. You can use the internet to host your
presentations.

For me the greatest gift of the internet is that I can now
avoid all of the drive time and no-shows I used to sit
through.

You can work your face-to-face market. You can hand out
business cards with your presentation site listed or use
flyers or tear-offs and send them to your online
presentation. It can save huge amounts of time if your
prospects are viewing an online presentation while you're
doing prospecting or follow-up.

But what if your company or upline doesn't have a suitable
presentation online? What if you can't find one anywhere
and you don't know how to create one yourself?

In this case you'll want to get your prospects phone
number either in person or at your opt-in page and then
create some material of your own on your own website or
email them. Then you can walk them through a presentation
on the phone.

You don't need to create anything elaborate. It can be a
PDF of one of your company's presentations from their
website or it can be a Word Doc or PDF that you have
created yourself.

Or email them a Power Point. If you can find one with a
narration to go along with it then this is ideal.

I have done presentations like this up to 12,000 miles
away and it's a very effective technique. It takes just as
long as a one-on-one in person but there's no driving and
if they don't answer their phone you just carry on with
your other tasks.

The idea here is that it doesn't have to be slick. You
just need a visual aid to get the idea across. If you're
sincere and the person is interested then it will be a
positive experience.

You can also send them to a live call presentation or
webcast, but I find it's difficult to get people to
actually show up for these-like hotel meetings--people
don't really want to be locked in to this.

Of course the ones who do attend the live presentations,
either online or in meetings are much better prospects, but
I have had a devil of a time getting them to show up.

Of course a nice professional audio-video presentation on
a site with an autoresponder is the ideal efficient
situation, but until you have that in place you have to be
creative and make do with whatever you can patch together.

If you want to stay in the game long term you'll want to
be making some sideline money early on to fund your
marketing programs.

If you have your own list you'll be able to show your
prospects how to do this and if you write your own manual
you'll be able to offer it for sale to your list and create
your own stream of income to fund your marketing.

Secrets of MLM Online Success-Do you need a Squeeze Page to Recruit Online?

If you want to use your online prospecting campaigns to
build an MLM organization either in your City or State
(which you can do with "City Targeted" Pay-per-Click) or
even World Wide you are going to need a list to email.

There are two schools of thought here:

1.You send your prospects directly to your company's
website (or one created by yourself or your upline) where
they can immediately view your marketing material.
Hopefully this website has an autoresponder so the visitors
can be added to your list.

2.You build your own Squeeze Page and allow your visitors
to opt-in to your list from there. Then you expose them to
messages encouraging them to visit your presentation site.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both of these
options.

In "Option 1" your prospects get to immediately review
your marketing material and make a decision…so you get
recruits faster…maybe?

Your company or upline then forwards them a series of
follow up emails…usually 10 to 16.

There are 2 problems I find with this approach:

The first is that your company's or you upline's email
follow-up series are too generic and too focused on
attempting to "convince" your prospects that they should
join.

This becomes very annoying after a very short while and
you lose prospects who after all were interested enough to
review the offer.

The second problem I have found with this approach is that
your prospects are not "double opt-in" to your list and so
could get you or your company's email shut down for CanSpam
infringements. These infringements can carry very hefty
fines as well. You don't really want to go there.

When you take say 1000 prospects from the list you have
generated this way you now need to find an email provider
who is willing to allow you to work with a single opt-in
list. A challenge but it can be done.

As well as your MLM efforts you'll need a Funded Proposal.
If you want to stay in the game long term you'll want to be
making some sideline money early on to fund your marketing
programs.

Secrets Of MLM Online Success-A unique way to get Prospects to a Business Presentation

Here's the scenario we covered in our earlier article:

Your MLM company is planning a big seminar or marketing
plan presentation in your area and you've chosen to run a
Pay-per-Click campaign to generate some prospects to invite.

You're definitely going to need a "Squeeze Page" to make
this work but we'll get into that later. If you click on my
link at the bottom of this page I'll send you some free
software to build a Squeeze Page.

What's the best way to go about this?

To make your campaign cost effective you'll want to be
very specific in your ad about the fact that this is a
seminar. You don't want tire kickers. You want people who
like to go to free seminars.

You'll want to give yourself lots of lead time too if this
is your first campaign in this area. If it's for a
marketing plan presentation you may want to wait to see
what sort of traffic you can get and how long it takes to
show up, before booking the hotel room for your meeting.
This is a trial and error process until you find the
formula that works for you.

Your ad might say something like this:

Life Changing Seminar
Will be Held In "Your-City"-Free
The Secrets of Financial Freedom
http://www."your website goes here".com

You may hate this ad so write one of your own. Or use my
ad if you want. Chances are you'll be the only one in your
city doing this.

And make the ad non-specific. You don't have room in a PPC
ad to get into locations and topics etc.

Once you get this going to your liking you can use it
continuously, building a list of prospects in your area who
are interested in seminars.
You'll always have someone to invite!

As well as your MLM efforts you'll need a Funded Proposal.
If you want to stay in the game long term you'll want to be
making some sideline money early on to fund your marketing
programs.
