Secrets of MLM Online Success--Make Big Money Fast--Here's What You Need to Do!

If you want to make big money fast in MLM then four very
important things have to be in place!

1. You must believe big time!

You must believe in your company, your product and your
process…but most of all you must believe in YOU!

2. You must believe "you" can do it!

If you've seen other people do it this way, then that's
even better…you can believe more strongly in the process.

But "you" and your belief in you are what will really make
it happen!

3. You must be absolutely certain that this is what "you"
want; that this goal is meaningful for you. If this is not
your goal, if you are doing it to please someone else, but
your heart isn't really in it…it ain't gonna work.

4. You must be absolutely willing and ready to make this
happen! No half hearted efforts here. You must hit the
ground running and then increase speed. You must be totally
ready to face your fears and banish them to the background.
This is not a time to be timid.

You must be totally ready and willing to step out of your
comfort zone and do whatever it takes.

If you do all that you will absolutely be successful.

And you'd better be ready to go short of sleep and free
time for a few months.
If you truly want to make it happen, then MLM can be
kicked off very, very quickly…but you've got to be excited
or it won't happen! A run like this demands momentum and
the real trick is to keep that momentum going after you hit
your initial goal.

Don't sit back on your laurels and just watch this
beautiful organization you've just put together. Or even
worse, decide it's time to train everybody. Your main job
always is to prospect and sponsor-to lead by example and
build! Don't lose focus and get lost in training people--
automate your training. Get it online.

Secrets of MLM Online Success--Make Big Money Fast--Here's a Game Plan That Works!

If you want to make big money fast in MLM then you need
these four very important things in place!

1. You must believe big time!

2. You must believe "you" can do it!

3. You must be absolutely certain that this is what "you"
want.

4. You must be absolutely willing and ready to go out and
make this happen!

So with that in place…what exactly do you "do" to make it
happen!

It's hard for me to give you a game plan for every MLM
business out there-but most of them have a lot of
similarities. You can start people with a $20 (or whatever
minimum package your company offers) paperwork only or
online registration package, all the way up to a full size
premium starter pak that might cost as much as $2000
and up.

If you want to hit it big "fast", then you need to make a
huge recruiting run employing your company's maximum
starter package. Don't "product load" beyond this package.
That's not professional and it's not fair to your new
person.

This full size package will bring you the biggest return
dollar wise and all of your new downline will get the same
benefit. This isn't necessarily ripping anyone off.
Typically the maximum package represents the best value for
the money and contains everything a new distributor will
need to build a big business.

The "real secret" to the fast start is that "it's not
about you"! It's about getting your prospects excited about
how you can help them build their business. There has to be
something in it for them. If you are shooting for a
particular level or pin then get your downline excited
about making that happen for them too-or a least a level
below.

If you do it this way to are likely to way overshoot your
expectations.

Secrets of MLM Online Success: Does MLM Work?

Well that's a ridiculous question to be asking. MLM
companies do billions of dollars a year in sales. Of course
it works!

I think the real question is: How does MLM compare to
other businesses and can "I" succeed at MLM?

Let me tell you a story:

I have spent over 30 years in the selling business.

When I first started I sold vacuum cleaners by
appointment…and I was successful at that where most of the
people were failing.

Why was I successful? Because I was desperate. I had no
choice but to succeed!

I had just arrived in Canada from Australia, didn't have a
job, the bank couldn't find my money, I had a wife and two
young children; I just didn't have a choice.

I pushed down my fear of rejection and soldiered on. And I
got over the fear and became successful.

From there I moved on to computer sales. Over the years I
have sold financial products, consumer products, major
engineering machinery, insurance, cars, used furniture and
appliances, personal development courses and of course MLM.
If you were to say I have a restless soul you'd be
perfectly correct.

But most of my time has been spent in one industry.

In all sales forces a few of the people make most of the
money…that's just how it is. And in my experience comparing
people of equal talent, it's the one who works the hardest,
who is driven to succeed, who comes out on top.

But MLM is different!

MLM is a business not a job. There's no employer here-no
quotas to meet, except those we impose on ourselves. No
expectations from the owner or the boss. If it's got to be
it's up to me!

In the early days, if I don't generate the activity then
nothing happens. If I don't move some product through my
organization either to customers or to other distributors,
then I don't make any money.

Most people aren't used to operating in this environment,
so often they find building their MLM business to be a
challenge.

Secrets of MLM Online Success: How do you make money in MLM and who gets ripped off?

Now there's a great question!

I know lots of people who like to take the victim role
that are totally convinced that anyone making big bucks is
ripping the little guy off.

So let's put that one to bed…in MLM the little guy is a
volunteer!

It's not that anyone is getting ripped off. It's the
simple fact that in all businesses a small handful of high
achievers make significantly more income than the average.

MLM is not a job where you're on a fixed salary and have
to beg for a raise, while the President is entrenched at
the top making the big income. In MLM everyone is the
President of their own business and they can write their
own income check…if they want to work for it.

You start in MLM the same place everyone else started and
from then on it's up to you. In the typical compensation
plan you can make some money selling the product at retail.
Often the retail price is quite prohibitive so you end up
selling at wholesale-customers like to feel they're getting
a deal--and you earn the distributors override on your
product sales. That override varies, but in my MLM company,
its 10% to 20% depending how my business is structured.

Many people like to start by setting up a network of
preferred retail customers, often around the world, who can
order and pay for their own products online. A series of
emails keeps you in touch and many of these customers find
customers of their own so they enroll as a distributor. And
so your business grows and your income grows via your 10%
to 20% override on sales.

It's a very efficient process, but by some this is
considered the slow way to start. But on the plus side the
income is typically all residual so it's a rock solid
business.

Others, and possibly this is the majority, like to make
the override on the bigger sale of the starter packages, so
they begin with a program of recruitment and teach their
new associates to do the same.

Getting customers is often an overlooked segment of MLM,
where many associates focus on recruitment and personal
consumption only.

In my opinion if you want a rock solid business then you
want to do both; teach your team to make sure their monthly
qualifying volume is more than covered by retail sales.
That way they're always making some money and they don't
fall away. Besides, getting customers is a lot easier than
finding a willing candidate for sponsoring.

In a business built like this you truly can retire on your
residual income!

Secrets of MLM Online Success: Does anyone make any money in MLM?

My first question: Compared to what?

How much time do you think the average MLMer puts into
their business?

Answer: Not very much…in fact maybe 2 hours a month and
most of that spent going to a seminar their sponsor drags
them to.

How much money do you think the average MLMer makes from
their business?

Same Answer: Not very much!

In fact it's probably mostly zero or negative. Lots of
MLMers hang on to doing their qualifying volume, because
they haven't totally given up on their dream…they want to
keep it alive...it's a little ray of hope on an otherwise
dark horizon and while they grumble at the cost they don't
want to totally let go.

Sound familiar?

How much time do you think the big earning MLMer puts into
their business?

Answer: Lots and lots of 12 hour days.

And how much do they make? Lots and lots…sometimes
millions of dollars a year.

Are they making all this money on the backs of all those
struggling small distributors? Not at all! The small
distributor isn't struggling…they generally aren't doing
anything.

How much time do you think the average realtor puts into
their business?

For those making the big bucks it's often 12 to 16 hour
days and usually 7 days a week.

But they all make big bucks…right?

Wrong!!!

Let's look at the Realtor profession for a moment:

In California there were over 500,000 registered realtors
in 2006 and they sold around 40,000 properties total in
June 2007. (This is a moving target so don't hold me to
those figures but they're in the ballpark). The average
property value was $480,000. So that's $19.2 billion in
total dollar sales in June. That's $38,400 per realtor on
which let's say they make 5% or $1920 per month each. But
that's just the average…some make more and some less.

The 2006 stats for realtors were these:

Of all the realtors registered in California, the average
income was $40,000 for the year. And of those 500,000
realtors, 50% of them, that's 250,000, earned less than
$15,000 in 2006.

Now some of them were stay at home mum's or retired people
who kept their licenses alive but didn't make any sales at
all, and a handful of others earned over $1 million for the
year…but still a pretty tough racket.

The realtors who make the big bucks work very hard, very
long hours and they deserve the rewards. But lots and lots
of realtors barely get by…particularly in falling markets.

Looks a lot like MLM doesn't it? Those who work make the
big bucks!

Secrets of MLM Online Success: How does MLM compare with other businesses?

Let's look at that!

In a business or a corporation there's the owner or the
President. The owner is there for life or until they sell
their business, so you ain't getting that job unless you
buy them out. And typically the President is in office for
a long time too…often as much as 25 years or more. It
generally doesn't matter how much talent you have, if the
President has enough pull with the board you can't have his
job either.

And the VP's tend to have just as much longevity too.
They're hanging around waiting for the Pres. to either
retire or croak. I bet there's lots of VP's go to bed at
night hoping for a Presidential heart attack to sweep them
into power in the morning.

So let's do the math: in a company of say 60,000 employees
there's one President who stays in power for 10 or 20
years…not very good odds, huh?

So in despair you decide to start your own business. If
you have a million bucks you can start a McDonald's…but how
boring is that. You've just traded a million bucks and a
job with a salary, for a 24/7 noose around your neck and no
real guarantee of success other than the history of the
franchise to generate income. The buck stops with you and
you're motivated to not lose your investment-most of which
is owed to the bank anyhow.

Or you start something smaller with a more affordable
investment…maybe $50,000 to $100,000. Statistics point to
the fact that 90% of startup business fail within 5
years…half of them in the first year; mostly because of
lack of money, knowledge, discipline or motivation. You
blow your investment. Not a great statistic.

Which brings us to MLM!

You come in and you generally invest something in the
order of a couple of hundred to maybe two thousand dollars.
Typically you have no experience in business, no experience
at working for yourself, no experience at working with
people and no idea of what to do.

If your company or sponsor has a strong training program
you have a chance. But usually they tell you to make a list
of family and friends and invite them to a meeting.

You're too impatient to wait for your sponsor, you drive
over and invite them, they put you down, you hate the
rejection and that's it for you!

Game over before you get started!

There's an easier way…

Secrets of MLM Online Success: How to get Rock Solid Motivation!

Well that's an easy one!

Until you know what you want to gain from your MLM
business, why you're doing it and what you're willing to
give up to make it happen, then you ain't goin' nowhere!

There's incredible power in a goal that you can truly
embrace! It will take you over and drive you on.
You'll never have to look for motivation again…it will
always be there.

Forget those dream boards and all that hoopla. Maybe they
work but I think they end up just being
transitory…frivolous stuff you think you want and put on
the fridge to keep your sponsor happy.

Your real "why" that will truly motivate you isn't just an
exciting or exotic goal, something it would be "nice to
have or to achieve". Oh, no! To truly be an effective
motivator your goal has to be gut-level-the total essence
of your being. Your soul must demand that you have it. You
know it's there but it's been hiding from you. Often
because you don't truly believe you can have it.

You see, once you know what you really truly want,
everything is possible!

Stumbling blocks become stepping stones. You work, you
fail, you re-design and you move forward again.
Don't waste your effort on somebody else's goal. Make sure
it's truly something that "you" want…totally without
reservation.

Say my wife would like the big new house, but I'd really
prefer the freedom that would come from having the income
generated from investing the money or maybe a boat. She
convinces me that the house would be great and I begin to
work toward this goal. Pretty soon an obstacle arises and I
give up.

Why did I give up?

That's easy! It wasn't my goal. I didn't really care about
a new house and my wife doesn't really care about the boat
I want. Goals are totally personal.

Often the goal is quite small; something that is
meaningless to others but incredibly important to you.
I remember a time when all I wanted was an extra $500
dollars a month so I could quit my second job which I
hated. Doesn't sound like much but it was enough to get me
started and keep me in the game.

Once I knew exactly what I wanted it was easy to put
together a plan to get it.

I knew what I wanted, why I wanted it and what I was
willing to give up to get it.

Secrets of MLM Online Success: Is MLM a Real Business

I guess we start by considering what is a real business?

How would "you" define one?

Don't you think that if MLM was bogus that they wouldn't
be doing billions of dollars a year in sales?

And what about the claim that it's only the distributors
who are buying the product to keep their businesses active?
Well lots of distributors may be buying and using the
product, but mostly it's not to keep their businesses
active.

Why is that?

Because most distributors don't have a business to speak
of!

The average distributor sponsors 2.7 people into their
business in their lifetime. But that average is pushed up
by the active sponsors who enroll tens and even hundreds of
associates personally.

The fact is that most people who enter an MLM business
don't sponsor anyone. They ask two people to join, get
rejected, don't like it (and who can blame them; there is a
better way) and they stop trying. But lots of these
distributors joined the business because they saw a
personal benefit from the product. So they don't drop
out…they continue to use the product for years on end even
when there's no financial reward. Why is that? Because
they feel that the product is value at the price.

I certainly have had amazing benefits from the high
quality products distributed by MLM companies.

In my MLM business we do a lot of business around the
world with people who are just customers. (That's the
benefit of the internet and direct to consumer shipping).
They got involved to use the product, they find it's
beneficial to their health and they continue to use it for
years. Sure we sign some of them up as distributors on the
basis that they may tell someone of the benefits they are
getting from the product and actually stumble into building
a business that allows them to get their product for free;
but basically they are customers…and as distributors they
can buy at preferred prices.

A big chunk of our income comes from registered customers
who sign in to their account and order their own product.
No one is cajoling or "selling" them.

If an MLM company is successful then the customers think
the product represents real value. It does something for
them that they haven't found elsewhere.

Secrets of MLM Online Success: Is MLM Legit?

What exactly is MLM?

Let's start by looking at that!

First off…MLM is a real business!

I know we hear lots of detractors telling us that it's not
a real business but truly it is. A real viable product is
moved from the manufacturer to the end consumer by an
efficient mechanism. These days the product is usually
shipped direct from the factory to the end user by mail or
courier.

Billions of dollars worth of product gets shipped every
year!

So does MLM really work? I think those billions speak loud
and clear…of course it works!

So that's my first point: Billions of dollars of product
get moved into the market place every year.

By contrast in a pyramid scheme, nothing of value is
shipped. A pyramid is our best example of "the greater fool
theory"…greed run rampant; people looking for a quick
financial fix without doing any work. As long as you can
find some gullible person to buy in, you get your money
back…otherwise you have no recourse. Well…maybe a really
good friend will refund your money but you're probably too
embarrassed to ask.

The next thing I hear all the time is this: "the products
are over priced".
Well my answer to that is: "Compared to what?" Lexus and
Porsche cost five or six times what you can get a Chevy
Nova for but I don't hear anyone saying they're over
priced. In fact most people dream of being able to afford
one. They see the value!

Typically, a manufacturer chooses to market their product
via an MLM sales model because the product is usually super
high quality. They refuse to compromise on producing the
best product they can. So typically the price is higher
than run of the mill substitutes.

Products like this can't be sold off the shelf in a
supermarket. It needs an informed distributor to convey the
value to the potential customer. If an MLM company has gone
the distance for a few years, their product has found
acceptance in the marketplace. Acceptance means the end
user has found an ongoing benefit from the product.

Critical Steps to Online Success-The Absolute Best Way to Build Your List!

The most Critical Step to online success is to build your
list. Long term this will pay you more than anything else
you may do.

Why is that?

Because it's yours! You built it, you own it and if you
treat your clients well they will stay with you forever.

Article Marketing is without doubt the absolute best way
to build your list.

Have you tried it but find you're not having any success?

Are your articles not getting opened?

Do you want to know how to get your articles read and how
to get click thrus from readers?

Well there's a knack to it!

It's all in how you set up your article! Once you start
doing it right those click thrus will really start to click!

Here's what you do…

1. You must have a great title:

Getting your articles opened is all about the title. A
great title will grab your visitor's attention and they'll
click your article to see what's inside. A great title
grabs their interest-it tells the reader what they can
learn in the article, and it also arouses curiosity.

So what is a great title?

Great titles have clarity and directness. They stand up
and yell "action". They don't waffle around. They ask a
question…they promise a great outcome…they make a call to
action. They say: "Open "me" and your problems will be
solved."!

Visit a few of the article directories and look at their
"most read articles" page. There's a striking difference in
the directness and clarity of these titles versus articles
in general.

2. You must have a great opening paragraph:

Your first sentence or set of sentences must be just as
powerful as your title. You can't afford to disappoint your
reader. Tell them what they're going to get from your
article and why this will be a benefit to them.

If you don't do this your reader will feel let down…you
haven't provided what you promised… they'll click away and
look somewhere else.

3. You must continue to hold your readers' attention:
After the promise of the title and the opening paragraph
you must continue to hold your readers' attention. You must
now fulfill their expectations. Your information must be
concise, informative and to the point.

Give your reader useful information; information that can
be immediately put into action. Your purpose is wherever
possible to provide information that will make a positive
change in your readers life. You don't need to teach them
everything about the topic… that's probably a life times
work. One article of a few hundred words can't accomplish
this.

But, whatever you write…make it count. Don't just throw up
an article to get another one in the mill. People will come
to expect quality if that's what you provide and they'll
continue to look for your articles and be excited to read
them.

4. Place a compelling call to action in your bio:

At the end of the article you must place a compelling call
to action. You can also refer them to your link from the
body of your article; something like: "for more info click
my link below".

Don't just put your name and accomplishments and a link
in your bio… include a call to action. Tell the reader to
click through to your site for more information on the
topic. Tell them the benefits they can receive from your
site. Then add the link to your site. After that, put
your bio information--and your link again, or another if
you have two sites or two interesting pages.

And by now you know that I believe article marketing is
the best way to make this happen.

Maybe you've tried article marketing, your articles
getting opened, but you're not getting click thrus to your
squeeze page?

Let's see what we can do to fix that…

First the good news: "you're doing something right"; you
must be writing titles that are attracting traffic to your
article or you wouldn't have any readers.

One reason that you aren't getting clicks on your link
might be that the reader isn't getting that far. You could
be losing them in the first couple of paragraphs.

Your first sentence or set of sentences must be almost as
powerful as your title. You can't afford to disappoint your
reader. Tell them what they're going to get from your
article and why this will be a benefit to them.

If you don't do this your reader will feel let down…you
haven't provided what you promised… they'll click away and
look somewhere else.

There's an old army adage that goes like this:

"Tell them what you're going to tell them; tell it to
them; then recap and tell them what you told them."

If you adopt this formula you'll have great success with
your article writing…but remember to keep the recap
short…maybe just one sentence or a short paragraph.

Let's say this is your title:

"Want to take Great Photographs? Is your camera letting
you down? Here's how to test it…"

You might start your article something like this:
______________________________________________________
Are you not very happy with how your photo shots are
coming out lately?

Would you like some help?

I have found that in all endeavors the best tools bring
the best results.

It just might be that your camera is falling down on the
job!

Here's a way to test your camera to find out if it really
is the culprit:

***Now you add some info on how to do this***
.
.
.

Then quickly you wrap it up:

If these tests indicate your camera is at fault you can
take steps to upgrade. Otherwise you need to look further.

See how we followed the formula here?

We introduced the topic in a way that created interest in
the solution, we gave the solution and we wrapped it up.

Critical Steps To Online Success--Do You Need Help Building Your List?

Have you been trying to build your list, but it's just not
happening?

Have you tried article writing but that didn't work either?

Are your articles getting opened, but you're not getting
click thrus to your squeeze page?

There could be a number of reasons for this.

If your articles are getting opened then your title must
be OK.

The next critical step is to have 2 or 3 short strong
opening sentences or paragraphs…I've covered how to do this
in an earlier article…you can probably find it if you
search my name in the index.

If you've done both those things and you're still not
getting many click thrus then you are losing them in the
body…the "information segment" of your article.

After the promise of the title and the opening paragraph
you must continue to hold your readers' attention. You must
now fulfill their expectations. Your information must be
concise, informative and to the point.
Give your reader information that will be useful to them;
information that can be immediately put into action. Your
purpose is wherever possible to provide information that
will make a positive change in your reader's life.

But, whatever you write…make it count!

This is a performance you are staging…your reader is your
audience!

Have you ever been to a comedy show where the comic
started to lose the audience? Often good manners will keep
them in their seats for awhile but eventually if it gets
bad enough they will leave.

You don't have the saving grace of good manners to keep
your audience reading your article. If you're not
delivering the goods in an interesting, informative and
professional manner they will click away and look elsewhere.

If you think this might be an issue for you then perhaps
you need to take some writing lessons?

Meantime, here are a few ideas that might help:

Create a plan for your article: opening, body, closing. A
length of 300 to 500 words is a good size article.

Then set out 3 or 4 main points that you wish to cover in
the body of your article, organize them into an order that
lets the ideas flow, and devote a segment or paragraph to
each.

Use numbered points if appropriate.

Break up your paragraphs-keep them short.

People don't like reading text in big blocks; it's hard to
keep your place. So make sure there's lots of white space.
I like to use semi-colons, dashes and 3 dots to allow me to
make a series of short strong statements rather than a long
run-on sentence.

Vary your sentence lengths…short, medium and long.

Make statements and let them stand out as a single line.

Don't repeat words in close proximity to each other.
And finally: "write in haste and correct at leisure". If
the ideas are flowing just get them down fast. You can
easily come back and clean it up later.

Critical Steps to Online Success-How to Speed Up Your List Building.

Building your list is the most Critical Step on the road
to online success and there's no better way than article
marketing to make this happen.

If you've been working at article marketing but not
getting much success then here's the most important thing
to do.

Start creating powerful titles for your articles!

The title is all you've got to make a first
impression…it's your advertisement. You must make it work
for you! There's so much competition for a web searcher's
attention in the search engines today. Your article title
must stand out from the crowd.

It must reach out and grab the web searcher and say loudly:

"Read Me! I can help you!"

Without an attention grabbing title your articles will be
lost in the herd!

Visitors who read articles are looking for specific
information; a solution to a problem. Your title must tell
them how you can help.

Here's what a truly great title is all about!

"Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Young family slain by
crazed gorilla!"

Does that get your attention? Of course it does! And if we
can find a place where such an exuberant title is
appropriate that's exactly what we should use.

You don't really need to be quite as brazen as that…but
you get the idea.
Make it powerful!

As I wrote in an earlier article:

"Great titles have clarity and directness. They stand up
and yell "action". They don't waffle around. They ask a
question…they promise a great outcome…they make a call to
action. They say: "Open "me" and your problems will be
solved."!"

Here's an example:

"How to take Great Photographs: You must have a great
camera! Which one should you buy…?"

This title tells the reader right up front: "This article
will be about how to take great photographs". Anyone
looking for information on Dog Grooming knows that this
article isn't for them-but photographers will take notice
even if they were searching for something else. It goes on
to tell you that great photos need to start with a great
camera and then it promises to show you how to buy one.

The reader is left in no doubt as to what they will find
inside!

Compare this with:

"If you're finding your photos aren't very good you might
consider buying a better camera".

You see the difference?

The first one reaches out and announces itself…you
immediately know what to expect. This is an article on
"Taking Great Photos".

The second one tells the same story but it waffles and the
story is buried; you're three-quarters of the way along the
first line before you find out what it's about.

If you follow just this one principle you find a great
improvement in the traffic to your articles.

Visit a few of the article directories and look at their
"most read articles" page for some more ideas. There's a
striking difference in the directness and clarity of these
titles versus articles in general.

Critical Steps to Online Success -- How to Make your Squeeze Page Sell - Page Layout is Crucial to Success

You've probably noticed that most sales pages and squeeze
pages are centered on the screen and only take up around
70% of the screen width.

There's a reason for this!

People have trouble keeping track of their place in the
text if the columns are too wide. If they can't easily read
your copy they'll simply click away to another ad.

Break your text up into short paragraphs. If the text
comes in long paragraphs it looks daunting and possibly
even threatening. Most people don't like to tackle complex
material so if your copy gives that impression you'll lose
your reader.

It's also a good idea to keep your screen background color
white and just put a simple box around your text. A
completely white page is very welcoming and gives off a
nice clean fresh vibe. Readers find this welcoming.

On the other hand a black background may be more dramatic
but it comes off as dark and foreboding… the black forest
and the wicked witch syndrome1

And only use graphics or images if they really add to your
message. Perhaps a picture of yourself or your product will
add credibility… but then again, perhaps not. If you're in
doubt… leave them out. Unnecessary distractions on your
page will just take attention away from
your sales message. Same goes for animation, audio and
video.

If you really want to include a particular graphic or
effect then run some tests, with and without, and see which
brings the best results.

People don't care whether you're an amazing graphic
designer or not. They want to visit a website that looks
like something they're used to… something they can trust.
There's a great sense of comfort in getting what we expect.
Give your visitors what they're used to and it's your first
step toward winning their trust.

Critical Steps to Online Success-How to Make your Squeeze Page Sell- Don't Confuse Your Visitors!

Don't make your visitors guess what they're supposed to do
on your site. You must give them a strong call to action
and tell them exactly what they need to do to get the
benefits you outline! That's what a squeeze page is all
about.

Next to having a powerful headline your call to action is
the most critical element of your sales page. There's no
point getting visitors to your site if they don't know what
to do. If your visitor is confused about what action you
want them to take, they will get lost in the confusion and
leave.

Layout the benefits for them in a way that will be easy
for them to understand. This isn't a contest where you
demonstrate your superior knowledge. Tell your visitor
"what's in it for them" in plain simple language.

It's a simple formula. You state the feature, follow it
with the benefit statement and then make the call to action.

Let's say you sell a stress-relief product. Your copy
might say something like this:

"After doing research and testing, I found a set of really
fabulous relaxation CD's that solved my recurring migraine
problems, improved my sleep, and increased my energy
levels-all in just a few days!

"Click here now to learn how these CD's can soothe your
troubles away and lead you to a more healthy and happy
life."

As simple as that!

Remember that your visitors came to your website because
they were searching for something on the web and it looked
like you could provide it. They are wondering whether what
you have to offer will fill their need.

So make sure your copy is easy to read! I can't stress
this enough.

As far as fonts go my research tells me this: stick with
Verdana font in full strength colors for your text wherever
possible. Verdana is considered the best font for reading
online and even the very basic video cards can display it.
Times New Roman may be the default Microsoft Font but on
screen Verdana is easier to read.

Remember: You're not trying to amuse or entertain with
your site. Your goal is to sell! Give your visitors great
sales copy that's easy to read, tell them exactly how to
access your product and you're half way there.

Critical Steps to Online Success-How to Make your Squeeze Page Sell-Create a Strong Call to Action

What exactly is a "Call to Action"?

If not the single most important element on your sales
page, then it's right up there with having a powerful
headline. There's no point getting visitors to your site if
they don't know what to do. If your visitor is confused
about what action you want them to take, they will get lost
in the confusion and leave.

Your sales copy must compel your visitors to action! And
it should be the action you desire. That's the whole
purpose of your sales page.

You don't get to have any personal interaction with your
potential buyers; you can't answer their questions and
handle their objections on the web. Your sales copy needs
to stand in for you… take your place; it has to do that job
on your behalf.

It's a vital role!

Your sales copy needs to tell your visitors what you have
to offer (your "feature" statement); it has to explain how
using your product will improve your visitors lives (your
"benefit" statement) and it has to create "value" in the
minds of your potential buyer. They have to feel that what
they will be getting is a bargain. If you can create strong
emotion around this…even better.

If your visitor can sense that you have their best
interests at heart, you have won half the battle. If your
sales copy is too slick and pushy you will turn them off.
Ninety-five percent of humans don't like to be sold. And
the five percent left are other sales people.

So speak directly to your visitor; let them know you
understand their needs. Let them know that providing
service and value is important to you.

You know the difference between "Features" and "Benefits"?

Features tell the reader what you have to offer. Benefits
are much more powerful… they tell them how your offer will
create a positive change in their lives.

A feature-benefit statement would go something like this:

"This car has a smooth ride, but not too smooth. You won't
feel the bumps in the road but you'll still get the benefit
of great cornering!"

Let your sales copy tell your visitors how your product or
service will be of benefit to them… and be sincere… no
smoke and mirrors! Make sure that what you are offering
will in fact live up to your promises or there won't be any
repeat business.

Critical Steps to Online Success-How to Make your Squeeze Page Sell-Create a Strong Headline

Having a Squeeze Page up and hosted is one thing; driving
traffic to the page is a different challenge all together.

But how do you get your visitors to take action and opt-in
to your offer?

Here is the most important thing you can do.! It's pretty
simple but it will greatly improve your site conversion
figures… guaranteed!

Write a powerful attention-grabbing headline:

Your headline far and away is the most critical copy on
your web page!

Your headline should be right at the very top center of
your page. It needs to be in a large font size and
experiment has proven that "red" is the best color.

You must grab your visitor's attention and you have 7
seconds to do it… well maybe 10 seconds! You want them to
see that you've got the perfect solution to their problem.

Your headline needs to be "benefit rich". It needs to tell
them exactly how what you have to offer will be of value to
them.

You know the difference between "Features" and "Benefits"?

Features tell the reader what you have to offer. Benefits
are much more powerful… they tell them how your offer will
create a positive change in their lives.

You want your headline to let your visitors know exactly
how your site will make their lives easier... save them
money... save them time... increase their income... or
simply make them feel better.

Use formatting variations like bold fonts, underling,
italics etc to give your benefits more presence… you want
them to hit the visitor in the eye and rivet their
attention.

But be sparing… don't get too fancy. You don't want to
come off as an amateur.

Critical Steps to Online Success-How to Make your Squeeze Page Sell - Make your Webpage Easy to Read

The most important person to see your sales page is the
visitor who has a need and is motivated to purchase
something to fill that need.

Your only job is to help your visitor find what they are
looking for. That's the real job of a professional sales
person. To give enough service and information to allow the
customer to make an informed decision as to whether your
product offers good value, is affordable to them and is
appropriate for their needs.

I see so many websites where the designer has gone off on
a wonderfully self gratifying, graphic design adventure and
completely forgotten about the needs of the reader.

The only purpose of your sales page is to communicate your
information to your visitor in a way that makes it truly
easy for them to reach the decision you desire; i.e. to
purchase your product or service or opt-in to your list if
it is truly a good solution for them. Everything else is
irrelevant ego gratification or just plain poor design.

And another thing!

Not everyone has amazing eyesight, so take this into
account too. I'm getting more and more long sighted. That
means I can't focus close up so I need to move my reading
material further and further away to be able to focus on
it. I like to wear reading glasses that allow me to focus
clearly on the screen from about three feet away. That's
about the standard distance for someone using a keyboard on
a slide out keyboard tray.

So what did you say… deal with it?

Well here's the thing: If you serve up text that is too
small or is in pale shades of grey or blue or green or,
heaven forbid, pink… people like me (and there's lots of
us) struggle to read it. We'll just close your page and
move on.

Don't make anything difficult for your reader. Don't do
anything to cause your visitor to leave your page before
they have had a chance to evaluate your offer.

Critical Steps to Online Success-How to Make your Squeeze Page Sell-Don't get too Fancy with the Design.

Besides looking amateurish, a fussy site design will
confuse your visitor.

You've seen those sites with all sorts of graphics on the
background and lots of flash videos going off all over the
place. They demonstrate that the site designer knows their
stuff but the visitor has no idea what you want them to do;
and often the background graphics obscure your content so
it can't be easily read.

Keep it simple!

Choose one or two, maybe three colors and a couple of
fonts and stick with that design. Nothing looks worse than
a jumbled array of colors, fonts and styles. And absolutely
don't add textures or dark colored backgrounds; the test
becomes too difficult to read.

People like to get what they expect… what they're used to;
we don't really like surprises. Your visitors are used to
reading dark print on a light background… so give it to
them.

Don't use more than three colors plus maybe some yellow
for highlighting; and make sure your colors are web safe.
Lot's of internet users are still working with computers
that have very basic video cards. If you go throwing
sophisticated color shades and tints at them you'll
completely lose the dramatic effect you were trying to
generate by the time a very basic VGA video card gets to
interpret it on the screen.

What are web safe colors?

Basically they're the original 16 colors that came with
Dos. If you just stick with your basic black, red, blue,
dark blue and yellow you'll never get into trouble with
font colors.

Your visitors came to your website because they were
searching for something on the web. They clicked on your
site listing in the search engine page. They really hope
you can fill their need.

Give them great sales copy that's easy to read and you're
half way there!

Secrets of MLM Online Success-Use Pay-per-Click to get Prospects to a Seminar in your City.

Your MLM company is planning a big seminar or marketing
plan presentation in your area but you have no one to drag
out…you've approached everyone you know and lots you didn't
know. People cross the street when they see you coming.

How on earth can you find some new prospects to invite?

Find them online!

If you want to do it this way then your best online
prospecting option is to use Pay-per-Click.

Open your Google AdWords site (or enroll for one if you
don't have one already…it's free), write your ad etc. and
then go to "Edit Campaign Options" and go down to
"Countries and Territories" on the bottom right hand side
of the page and click on "Edit" .

Now you'll be at the "Location Targeting Options".

At the top of the page above the "Countries" box you'll
see a long green bar with this inside: "Your campaign's
location targeting option: Countries and Territories" and
following that will be a link that says: "Edit". Click this
link.

You can now choose whether you want your PPC ad to be
shown in a particular State or you can select a specific
city or several cities.

Now when your ad runs only people in the selected
geographic locations will be able to view it. And of course
you'll get a much smaller response, but your traffic will
be geographically targeted.

Now that you've limited the traffic to the location of your
seminar you can afford to increase the amount you're
willing to pay up per click for the most favorable keywords.

In other words; you'll get less traffic at your website,
it will cost you more per click but they'll be worth more
because you have targeted them to the location you want.

As well as your MLM efforts you'll need a Funded Proposal.
If you want to stay in the game long term you'll want to be
making some sideline money early on to fund your marketing
programs.

Secrets of MLM Online Success-What do you do if your company doesn't have an online presentation?

The Internet can be useful in many ways to increase the
efficiency of your prospecting and recruiting efforts. You
don't necessarily have to use it only to generate prospects
at your website. You can use the internet to host your
presentations.

For me the greatest gift of the internet is that I can now
avoid all of the drive time and no-shows I used to sit
through.

You can work your face-to-face market. You can hand out
business cards with your presentation site listed or use
flyers or tear-offs and send them to your online
presentation. It can save huge amounts of time if your
prospects are viewing an online presentation while you're
doing prospecting or follow-up.

But what if your company or upline doesn't have a suitable
presentation online? What if you can't find one anywhere
and you don't know how to create one yourself?

In this case you'll want to get your prospects phone
number either in person or at your opt-in page and then
create some material of your own on your own website or
email them. Then you can walk them through a presentation
on the phone.

You don't need to create anything elaborate. It can be a
PDF of one of your company's presentations from their
website or it can be a Word Doc or PDF that you have
created yourself.

Or email them a Power Point. If you can find one with a
narration to go along with it then this is ideal.

I have done presentations like this up to 12,000 miles
away and it's a very effective technique. It takes just as
long as a one-on-one in person but there's no driving and
if they don't answer their phone you just carry on with
your other tasks.

The idea here is that it doesn't have to be slick. You
just need a visual aid to get the idea across. If you're
sincere and the person is interested then it will be a
positive experience.

You can also send them to a live call presentation or
webcast, but I find it's difficult to get people to
actually show up for these-like hotel meetings--people
don't really want to be locked in to this.

Of course the ones who do attend the live presentations,
either online or in meetings are much better prospects, but
I have had a devil of a time getting them to show up.

Of course a nice professional audio-video presentation on
a site with an autoresponder is the ideal efficient
situation, but until you have that in place you have to be
creative and make do with whatever you can patch together.

If you want to stay in the game long term you'll want to
be making some sideline money early on to fund your
marketing programs.

If you have your own list you'll be able to show your
prospects how to do this and if you write your own manual
you'll be able to offer it for sale to your list and create
your own stream of income to fund your marketing.

Secrets of MLM Online Success-Do you need a Squeeze Page to Recruit Online?

If you want to use your online prospecting campaigns to
build an MLM organization either in your City or State
(which you can do with "City Targeted" Pay-per-Click) or
even World Wide you are going to need a list to email.

There are two schools of thought here:

1.You send your prospects directly to your company's
website (or one created by yourself or your upline) where
they can immediately view your marketing material.
Hopefully this website has an autoresponder so the visitors
can be added to your list.

2.You build your own Squeeze Page and allow your visitors
to opt-in to your list from there. Then you expose them to
messages encouraging them to visit your presentation site.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both of these
options.

In "Option 1" your prospects get to immediately review
your marketing material and make a decision…so you get
recruits faster…maybe?

Your company or upline then forwards them a series of
follow up emails…usually 10 to 16.

There are 2 problems I find with this approach:

The first is that your company's or you upline's email
follow-up series are too generic and too focused on
attempting to "convince" your prospects that they should
join.

This becomes very annoying after a very short while and
you lose prospects who after all were interested enough to
review the offer.

The second problem I have found with this approach is that
your prospects are not "double opt-in" to your list and so
could get you or your company's email shut down for CanSpam
infringements. These infringements can carry very hefty
fines as well. You don't really want to go there.

When you take say 1000 prospects from the list you have
generated this way you now need to find an email provider
who is willing to allow you to work with a single opt-in
list. A challenge but it can be done.

As well as your MLM efforts you'll need a Funded Proposal.
If you want to stay in the game long term you'll want to be
making some sideline money early on to fund your marketing
programs.

Secrets Of MLM Online Success-A unique way to get Prospects to a Business Presentation

Here's the scenario we covered in our earlier article:

Your MLM company is planning a big seminar or marketing
plan presentation in your area and you've chosen to run a
Pay-per-Click campaign to generate some prospects to invite.

You're definitely going to need a "Squeeze Page" to make
this work but we'll get into that later. If you click on my
link at the bottom of this page I'll send you some free
software to build a Squeeze Page.

What's the best way to go about this?

To make your campaign cost effective you'll want to be
very specific in your ad about the fact that this is a
seminar. You don't want tire kickers. You want people who
like to go to free seminars.

You'll want to give yourself lots of lead time too if this
is your first campaign in this area. If it's for a
marketing plan presentation you may want to wait to see
what sort of traffic you can get and how long it takes to
show up, before booking the hotel room for your meeting.
This is a trial and error process until you find the
formula that works for you.

Your ad might say something like this:

Life Changing Seminar
Will be Held In "Your-City"-Free
The Secrets of Financial Freedom
http://www."your website goes here".com

You may hate this ad so write one of your own. Or use my
ad if you want. Chances are you'll be the only one in your
city doing this.

And make the ad non-specific. You don't have room in a PPC
ad to get into locations and topics etc.

Once you get this going to your liking you can use it
continuously, building a list of prospects in your area who
are interested in seminars.
You'll always have someone to invite!

As well as your MLM efforts you'll need a Funded Proposal.
If you want to stay in the game long term you'll want to be
making some sideline money early on to fund your marketing
programs.

Secrets of MLM Online Success--How does your Company's Compensation Plan Stack Up?

In earlier articles we've been talking about the
attributes of the "Ideal MLM Company" for Online promotion
of your MLM business, in terms of the ease with which a
prospect can be recruited online with no personal
interaction with you or the company except via the website.

Now let's look at another factor that comes into play big
time. What are the chances of you making any money?

How does your company's Compensation Plan work? Does it
require you to sponsor wide or can you make money by just
going deep on two legs?

If it's not a binary plan or a maximum of 3 on the front
line you'll struggle with retention. The average associate
sponsors 2.7 people…this is the long term industry average.
Most of your business associates will be average people who
aren't totally fired up to pursue the business and hate
rejection (as every sane person should); but they love and
use the product and would like to make a bit of extra money.

If your comp plan requires them to go wide and sponsor a
lot of people on the front line to be profitable, they wont
be able to do it, they won't make any money and they will
just fall away…industry averages tell us this. The facts
simply are that 99% or more of the people you sponsor will
not themselves be sponsoring machines. It's the high energy
salesman types who love to sponsor wide-and they're few and
far between.

And not everyone is going to want to recruit online
either. In fact in my experience most people still prefer
what is called the warm market: carrying the message to
family, friends and people we meet.

So the simple truth is that the ideal MLM Company will
have a comp plan that calls for a maximum of 3 on the front
line; if you want retention.

A case in point is that the binary plan of one of the
major health and wellness companies is year after year
voted the best in the industry.

If your company does not have these characteristics and
you have been struggling for some time then perhaps it's
time for you to re-evaluate your situation?

But if your company has none of the characteristics I have
listed and you are still doing amazing things then
absolutely ignore everything I have said and get on with it.

If it ain't broke-don't fix it!

As well as your MLM efforts you'll need a Funded Proposal.
You'll want to be making some sideline money to fund your
marketing.

Secrets of MLM Online Success - How Does Your MLM Company Rate to Build Online?

In an earlier article I laid out the characteristics of
the ideal MLM Company for online recruiting.

To recap in just a few words: For your MLM company to be
ideal for online recruitment it should offer the option for
visitors to enroll at the website without contacting you or
your company directly, for a cost under $50.

The closer your company comes to that, the more successful
you will be at online recruitment.

The more contacts you need to have with the prospect
before they sign up and the more expensive the entry fee
the less efficient is your process of recruitment in terms
of your time commitment.

Of course a higher entry level fee will attract associates
who can sustain a higher monthly maintenance fee and your
income can be achieved from a smaller downline.

Here we are just examining the efficiency of the actual
online recruitment process.

Here are some other areas to examine:

* Is your "company" reputable and highly regarded?

* Can prospects sign up as customers and buy products that
will be credited to you, from your pages on your company's
website, without talking with you?

* Is your product unique and highly regarded - do people
use it long term even if there's no compensation plan
involved.

* Does your product have longevity or is it a "flash in
the pan" wonder product with no real substance for the long
haul. In MLM you have to build for the long term.

As well as your MLM efforts you'll need a Funded Proposal.
You'll want to be making some sideline money to fund your
marketing.

Secrets of MLM Online Success--The Ideal MLM Company for Online Recruiting

Not all MLM companies are created equal. Some are more
suited to online recruiting than others.

There are specific characteristics to look for when
choosing an MLM company to promote online or when deciding
to use the internet to generate leads for your existing MLM
opportunity.

First and foremost is this: are your prospects able to
enroll in your program without ever contacting you or
anyone at your MLM company.
This is the ideal situation because it is letting the
internet do 100% of the work for you while you focus on
your prospecting process.

The "Ideal Online MLM Company" will have the following in
place:

* A powerful sales page with opt-in form so that when your
prospects enter the site to explore the opportunity their
names have been added to your prospect list for follow-up.

* A low cost short term trial offer so they can "test
drive" the business before making a full commitment. This
should be less than $5 and for a period of no more than 3
weeks. We want this to be very affordable and to give them
sufficient time (but not too much) to evaluate the
opportunity before making a decision.

*It is way better to have a small cost associated with
the trial period because it is a filtering process.
Prospects who are willing to enter their credit card
information and pay a small fee have declared that their
level of interest is quite high.

* Powerful audio, video and print presentations to help
them assess whether your opportunity would be appropriate
for them.

" A series of follow-up emails in place to keep the
visitor interested.

* Notification to you immediately they enroll at your site
and again when they enter into the trial period, so you can
begin your own follow up by either email or phone or both
if you so choose.

* A sign up fee of $50 or less which covers the first
months maintenance fee and a maintenance fee of $50 or less
per month.

A second series of emails for the trial period that in
some way incorporates the fear of loss.

There is a company exposing me to this at the moment and
although I don't like their program I must admit it has a
very powerful psychological pull. I get a strong feeling
of: "I don't want to miss out".

I know it will take more associates on your team to
develop volume in a program with low monthly maintenance
requirements like this, but it lends itself much better to
online promotion.

As well as your MLM efforts you'll need a Funded Proposal.
You'll want to be making some sideline money to fund your
marketing.

7 Action Steps to Online Success-Session 1--Get a Website and turn 5 Articles into an eBook

Generating success in an online business is not a matter
of luck, but there are some secrets that will get you
started.

Success in any venture is a matter of knowing exactly
"what" you want to do, "why" you want to do it and
having a "plan" to get there, doing activities you enjoy.

If you begin on a program that involves activities you
really detest and have little talent for and can't learn,
then you are not likely to cross the finish line.

I can't provide you with your "what" and your "why" so if
you don't have these sorted out it's time to get on with
brainstorming and come up with a niche market in an area
you can get passionate about.

Here's a plan of action that really works. Follow these
action steps and Online Success is assured:

1. You must have a website:

To get started building your list it only needs to be one
page, a squeeze page. You can easily add more pages as you
go and they can all be simple. You can find lots of easy to
use software to do this. You can use MS Frontpage if it
came with your MS Office package. You don't need to go to
the expense of buying Dreamweaver at this time but if
you're serious it is a good thing to have down the road.

2. Write 5 Articles and turn them into an eBook:

To attract visitors to opt-in to your list you need a free
gift to give away on your squeeze page. A "how-to" eBook
about your niche, that you write yourself, is the easiest
and cheapest way to do it.
And since article writing is a
great way to attract visitors to your site you can publish
these articles on the article directories to start off your
website promotion program.

7 Action Steps to Online Success--Session 2--Get an Autoresponder and write a 5 Email Series

As I said before, success in any venture is a matter of
knowing exactly "what" you want to do, "why" you want to do
it and having a "plan" to get there, doing activities you
enjoy.

There's really no secret here…it's a logical progression
of Action steps.

We covered Action Steps 1 and 2 in a previous article
which you may want to read, but I'll recap them here
briefly.

1 You must have a website:
2. Write 5 Articles and turn them into an eBook:

So let's move on with the rest of the Action Steps.

3. You must have an Autoresponder:

Now you have your website up and running and you have your
URL you can go to the Autoresponder of your choice and
setup your account.

You need an Autoresponder to handle all of your list
building and email activities-you'll quickly be way too
busy to all of this manually. The Autoresponder will also
handle the task of directing your traffic to your download
page so your visitors can get your free eBook.

4. Write a series of five emails for your Autoresponder
list:

These first five emails are your very first meeting with
your new list members so remember "you only get one chance
to make a first impression"…so make sure it's a good one by
giving these five emails your very best shot.

For now a series of five emails will be sufficient. Send
one every day. Basically they should welcome your visitors,
thank them for joining your Newsletter list, send more
content and another free gift and finally make an offer of
an affiliate product if you don't yet have one of your own.
Remember…your list is the very life blood of your online
business.

If you don't have a list you have no business…and
if you don't keep it growing your business will die.

Lookout for Steps 5 thru 7.

Do you want to learn more about how I do it? I have just

7 Action Steps to Online Success-Session 3--Drive Traffic to your Website

We covered Action Steps 1 thru 4 in previous articles
which you may want to read, but I'll recap them here again
briefly.

1. You must have a website:
2. Write 5 Articles and turn them into an eBook:
3. You must have an Autoresponder:
4. Write a series of five emails for your Autoresponder list.

So now let's move on with Action Step 5.

5.You need to get traffic to your website:

I'll spend a bit more time on this step because it's
critical to your online success.

Pretty simple concept: no traffic at the squeeze page then
no list. No list usually means no clients and no business.

You can drive traffic to your site in a number of ways but
the two most effective are Article Marketing and Pay-per-
Click.

Pay-per-click is a fast and easy way to get traffic, but
it can get very expensive very quickly. I've spent quite a
bit of money here and generated a lot of traffic…but it
wasn't qualified and I didn't recoup my investment.

I have found that if you're not willing or able to pay up
for key words that work (and these are the ones everyone
wants to be positioned on, so the competition is often
fierce) then you won't attract qualified, motivated traffic
unless you're a PPC guru and truly understand the
intricacies of optimizing your key words to work seamlessly
with your landing page and stuff like that. I don't know
enough about how that all works and I don't know anyone who
does that I can ask.

On the other hand article marketing is virtually free,
maybe $25 per month for your website and autoresponder
(which you would still need for PPC anyway), and it
generates highly qualified, motivated, targeted traffic.

The down side to article marketing is that it's quite a
lot of work and takes some time to get started, but once it
hits momentum it's amazing.

7 Action Steps to Online Success - Session 4 - Affiliate Products versus Your Own Products

We covered Action Steps 1 thru 5 in previous articles
which you may want to read, but I'll recap them here again
briefly.

1. You must have a website.
2. Write 5 Articles and turn them into an eBook.
3. You must have an Autoresponder.
4. Write a series of five emails for your Autoresponder
list.
5. You need to get traffic to your website.

So now let's move on with Action Steps 6 and 7.

6. Find some affiliate products to market:

You'll want to look for affiliate products in the early
days to get you started if you don't have any products of
your own just yet.

There are basically two main product categories to
consider; digital products and physical products.
Be aware that "physical products" (books, cosmetics, motor
cycles etc) have a large manufacturing cost component in
their pricing, so your profit margins are likely to be
skinnier. If you work with digital products such as eBooks
or online services such as dating services you can find
affiliate commissions up to 75% or more. If this field is
attractive to you it can be very lucrative.

You can find products by going to Google and looking for
"affiliate products" or you can start with affiliate
networks like Commission Junction and Click Bank.

Affiliate networks act as brokers between sellers and
affiliate marketers like yourself. They're free to join and
offer a lot of choice. And best of all…you'll get paid when
you sell something.

7. Create your own products:

I'm assuming here that you will be working with digital
products rather than physical. If you're planning to
manufacture your own physical products then I really am not
qualified to help you here, other than this word of
caution, it's harder than you think.

But that's negative thinking and you will no doubt push
through to great success.

Books are the biggest sellers on the internet and people
are hungry for knowledge so a "how-to" eBook about your
niche market is your best bet. If you have say a
photography site then a book entitled "The 7 Biggest
Mistakes to Avoid when taking that Great Photograph" or
something similar could be very successful.

The really good news is that eBooks cost virtually nothing
to produce except your time and so command a 100% profit
margin.

The easiest way to get double duty out of your efforts is
to write a series of 10 or 20 articles on the topic and
combine them into your book. This way you're attracting
visitors and also creating a for-sale product at the same
time.

You now send another series of emails similar to the first
but this time instead of an affiliate product you offer
your own.

You will of course need to have a "shopping cart" on your
site to collect payment.

Critical Steps to Online Success--Step 3--You need a Product to sell

Before you gear up for an online campaign to market
something on the web, it's a good idea to have a specific
product in mind.

There are many factors you will need to make decisions
about before you get started. First you will want to find a
supplier for your product or create a product of your own.
Then you will need to package it attractively, market it
effectively, attract potential customers to view and decide
to purchase your product, transact the sale online and
finally collect payment before you deliver it to your
customers.

To achieve this online you will need to have your own e-
commerce website with shopping cart capability so you can
complete your transactions on-line.

Here are some ideas to get you started!

If you are marketing a physical product then you will have
to source it, store it, package it and ship it--or arrange
for someone else to do that for you. And don't forget that
a lot of your transaction price goes toward the actual
manufacture, purchase and shipping of the product you wish
to sell.

The cost of supplying a physical product will cut quite
deeply into your profit margins. Let's say your list is
comfortable buying a $20 product from you. If you mark your
product up too high you become uncompetitive. For a
physical product your cost might be $12 (or 40%) say and
your profit is $8 per sale.

With a digital product your cost is usually very close to
zero so your profit on the transaction is $20 (or 100%)…you
make much more this way

If you have an extraordinarily unique physical product and
you know that you can sell it easily then that is the way
for you to go.

Otherwise I would suggest you either buy or create a
digital product. Digital products are usually easier to
work with, are low cost if you create them yourself and can
be delivered over the web. Digital products can be books,
courses, services (like a dating service) or "how-to"
websites, videos, audio recordings etc. that are delivered
in digital format over the web. They are also sold in the
form of CD's, DVD's etc and can be quite profitable in this
format but you have the issues around manufacture, storage
and delivery that we discussed earlier.

A "how-to" product such as a book or online learning
program would seem to have the best market these days for
someone starting out. You either write it yourself or find
free product on the net that has passed out of copyright.

People are hungry for knowledge and if they think you can
provide it for them they will buy your product.

You can remove a lot of the hassle of shipping and
handling and payment by getting involved with a popular
product as an affiliate marketer. This is probably the
easiest way to get your feet wet. It's low cost and most of
the promo work has already been done. I've covered this
quite extensively in a couple of earlier articles…you can
find them if you just google Jim Keayes Affiliate Products.
You might find something there that will be useful.

For now can start by visiting the web sites for Commission
Junction (CJ) and Clickbank, joining their sites (it's
free) and browsing the merchant offerings.

Critical Steps to Online Success--How to get Maximum Response from your List

If you are focused and consistent with your article
writing you will quite quickly (within a couple of months)
start getting a lot of visitors to your site who accept
your free offer and are added to your list.

It starts painfully slowly but then the momentum just
builds and a great stream of new leads floods in every day.

When they opt-in and accept your free gift your
autoresponder will begin to send them the timed series of
emails you wrote a while back so you would be ready for
this.

You started by writing 5 emails but now you need to expand
that to 20. Pretty much just 4 cycles of the first 5 emails.

You remember what they were?

1. Welcome to my Newsletter
2. Here's some content
3. Here's another free gift
4. Here's some more content
5. Here's an eBook you can purchase

Send emails to your list on a regular basis and continue
to offer affiliate products and products you have created
yourself…but don't overburden them with offers.

Give value via information and giveaways. A link to your
latest article can be a good giveaway.

You rise above the crowd if you continue to contribute
valuable teaching content in your Newsletter. Most
marketers only write when they want to sell you something.

And don't forget to keep on writing those articles.

As you write your articles…especially if you create a
series of articles to deal with a specific topic…you can
combine them into an eBook which you can offer for sale.

You see the beauty of the system?

The articles become the eBooks; you post your articles on
your Blog; you turn your teaching emails into articles; you
turn your articles into emails.

You write the content once but you get to use it over and
over again.
